The combination of Alec Wilder • Marlene VerPlanck • Loonis McGlohon • Dick Phipps - and Audiophile seems a natural fivesome since the association was so close during Alec's and Dick's lifetimes when these two were heavily involved in Bill Hay's production of Dick Phipps' American Popular Song Series for National Public Public Radio. Marlene dedicated this album to the memory of Dick Phipps whose untimely death occurred January 7, 1986 in Columbia, South Carolina. This was his kind of music and he would have loved this album.
